ART 225 Reflection
ART 225 Reflection
In this course I learned more about mixing colors with the color wheel project and the tints, tones, and shades project. I still feel like mixing magenta, cyan, and yellow would make brighter colors though. I also practiced mix media and collage. I think collage is hard and my classmates are way better at it. Besides that, I practiced painting a lot. I haven’t tried oil yet, but I feel like I’ll like that better than acrylics. Out of all the materials I used, I think Ink is my favorite. I love working with it. My thinking of image-making hasn’t really changed. Making art is fun and making good art is hard. I’m also bummed we didn’t get through all the projects

Historic Architecture
| Magic castle. Paper, Wood glue, Ink. 11x8 inches |
The Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis The Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine, home to the nation’s first Catholic parish, stands where it has since first built in 1797, then rebuilt after a fire in 1887. Its imposing presence on the Plaza de la Constitucion are a reminder of resilience in the ancient city, named for Saint Augustine of Hippo, on whose feast day, August 28, 1565, land was first sighted by Pedro Menendez de Aviles. Villa Zorayda. Villa Zorayda was built in 1883 by Franklin W. Smith as his winter home utilizing Moorish Revival Architecture. For this sculpture, I wanted to Incoporate the fantasy of the cathedral. Originally I wanted to incorporate stairs and more towers, but I decided to simplify it.

For this Sculpture I wanted to also make a fastasy castle based off the inspiration but this time, with round aspects. Sadly, I rad out of paper so I intensified the roundness.
